New members

New members will be taught proper sword etiquette.

New members must not handle swords that have been professionally restored without proper understanding of handling procedures and etiquette.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bringing swords and fittings to share with others
This is an important part of the meeting and will add to the overall knowledge of all members.  So please feel free to bring items with you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Buying and selling

At the end of the meeting there should be time for some possible buying and selling and trading amongst members to keep things interesting.  As long as it is done in a friendly fashion and creates no problems within the club it will be allowed.  People joining the club just to sell swords and have no interest in learning about swords, or show that they don't truly appreciate swords will not be allowed to remain as members.  This club was not created for selling and buying swords, but for educating and helping the new collectors and members interested in the Japanese sword.

Membership fees

A yearly donation of $40 per member is required.

One time visitors are asked to donate a $5 fee per meeting.

These donations will basically be used to pay for utilities and for other expenses incurred by the club such as website, supplies and or anything else necessary for the year.  This club was not created as a business and there is no intention to profit from the club.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please be note that we reserve the right to terminate membership at any time if a member is conducting himself or herself in a manner that is counterproductive to the overall benefit of the organization.
The Japanese Sword Society of Long Island is dedicated to educating and adding to the overall enjoyment of this hobby.  So please come and join us!
